Cheadle Hulme 14-5 loss at Wilmslow. See report for the story behind the clash.

CHLC v Wilmslow 1st
The men in black travelled to Wilmslow off the back of a gruelling win over Ashton. Wilmslow themselves coming into the game after an impressive win at Liverpool. The stage was set. With the sun on their back but a very heavy pitch the team started slowly and quickly went 4 down to some slick attacking Wilmslow play. With ex England and Premiership winners in there ranks and an old Knight the boys were right up against it. The men in black finally got hold of the ball after some impressive work by the tank which is Dylan Brown off the face and started to attack. A good drive down the ally and a sharp pass onto the crease by Chris Doona to the young top goal scorer Ben Eglin and the men in black were up and running. 4-1. Some senseless passing and some wasteful defending Wilmslow scored 2 more goals before Carl stepped up with a great solo effort. CHLC down 6-2 to end the 1st quarter. With 2 goals in the 2nd by Wilmslow and none to the lads the game was getting away from the boys. Never the less the defending was better and Matt in goal was starting to impress. Half time 8-2 down Carl hobbling, Charlie's groin playing up and Jon coming off with a back injury the lads had to dig deep. Into the 3rd they went, Carl in attack Matt Jones mid and Charlie playing back in D the game was tough but their never say die attitude and team work was a credit. Harry, Dan, Charlie and Matt were trying their hardest to stun the flow and the hard working Will, Chris, George, Marcus, Ben, Carl and Matt with Dylan they never let the heads go down. 3 more goals by Wilmslow before the hobbling Carl impressed again with a great cut a finish to the top corner. The last seconds of the 3rd a goal by Wilmslow but with Matt Jones defending well out popped his shoulder and is game was done. 12-3 going into the 4th. With a rallying call the men in black showed why their season was still up and running with a nice goal by Carl again showing his class. Another talking point and another injury followed. This time Chris Doona battling hard for a ground ball was disgustingly speared through the head leaving him out cold momentarily. He was able to move himself off the pitch but stayed where he was till well after the game finished and taken to hospital. Luckily the x-ray was clear just some bruising and cuts to his forehead. 2 mins of man up followed. Some slack passing and CHLC lost the ball far to easily. The Wilmslow goalie Dobby (ex Rochdale 1st teamer) decided to try and take on Dylan to his demise. Dobby tried to roll the ball into his crease but Dylan was their like a whippet and picked up the ground ball and sticking it in to cap a great performance. 2 goals followed by Wilmslow and the game finished 14-5.
Work to be done by the lads but never say die was great to See! A week off now then Stoke at home so time to regroup.
