FAQs

What is a Colour Run?

The Colour Run is a two or five-km, untimed event – THIS IS NOT A RACE!!. At various points, Colour Runners are doused from head to toe in a different coloured powder. With only two simple rules, everyone can participate in The Colour Run:

  1. You wear white at the beginning of the run
  2. You finish the race with a smile and plastered in colour

Once your run is over, the fun will continue, there will be inflatables, BBQ, Bar, vendors and some games for the family to enjoy. There is no admission fee for spectators to the event -Colour Runners have a choice of tickets available, an individual 2k ticket is £7.00, a family ticket for up to 5 Colour Runners is £25 and for those wanting a little longer challenge a 5k Colour run is £10.

How do I get Tickets?

There are three organisers (Roots, Cheadle Hulme Lacrosse Club and Cheadle Hulme and Ladybridge Cricket Club) organising this event and each group has its own method of purchasing tickets. Simply chose which club or school you prefer to purchase your tickets through and book with them, then print the disclaimer off at home if possible and turn up on the day.

For Lacrosse see the links above, each one takes you to a Stripe payment page where you can adjust the quantity of tickets you need and pay easily using Apple Pay, Google Pay, or credit/debit card.

Where and when is it?

Sunday 25th September, 12.30pm gates open, first race starts 13.15 and event closes at 16.00. The Colour Run is being held at Ladybridge Cricket Club, Meadway Road, SK8 5NZ

What time does it start?

The Colour Runs will be ran in waves from 13.15 and will continue to be set off at regular intervals until all runners have completed their course. You will be able to choose the time of your run on the day – so arrive early to get first choice of the available times. You will then be allocated a wristband to your chosen timeslot – runners will only be able to run with the correct colour wristband.

What is included in my ticket price?

Not only are you joining the most fun-filled running (or walking or skipping) experience of your life, but you will also receive an official Colour Run medal, and a personal colour packet.

Who can participate?

Anyone!! Children under the age of 15 do need to be accompanied by a responsible adult to participate in the Colour Run (the responsible adult does not need to participate in the Colour Run – but why miss out on the fun)

I want to run as a group of friends?

Great idea – you may designate one member of your group to collect all of your wristbands so you know you are all in one colour run, just make sure you know the details that your friends have paid under – or better still pay all together in one transaction! Alternatively you may not wish to run with your family and friends – there is no commitment to all of your booking party to run in the same Colour Run!

Will tickets be available on the day?

We are hoping the event to be hugely successful and so at this time we are anticipating closing the ticket sales around 10 days before the event. This will allow us to purchase all the equipment that is required. It will only be then, we will know if there will be additional tickets available on the door – if this is the case these tickets will be at a higher price. Watch your club/school social media site for updates.

What if it rains?

We will be dancing in the rain, only extreme weather conditions will stop this event from happening!!

Should there be strong winds then this may affect the inflatables that we have planned.

I’ve bought a ticket but now can’t go.

Tickets are non refundable – but can be transferred without any problems

Can I participate if I am pregnant or have health concerns?

If you are pregnant or have any issues with your health we recommend you to consult your doctor before entering the Colour Run. Although we will make the run as safe as possible to every participant, there is always the possibility of unforeseeable incidents (such as falling or bumping into another person).

Is the Colour Powder Safe?

Yes, the powder we will be using is non flammable and non toxic. It is created using corn starch and natural dies.

Will the Colour Powder stain my clothes?

The powder may stain your clothes, so please be mindful of what you choose to wear (white is best for showing the bright colours off) – just choose something that you don’t mind being more colourful than when you started.

Do I run for sponsorship or charity?

The Colour Run is not a charity event, but those participating are welcome to use their participation to raise money for their chosen charity. We would love it if you would consider ROOTS as your benefactor – why not set up your own fundraising page or use the sponsor form that will be sent out in the new school year. Any monies raised can be forwarded to ROOTS bank account or handed into the school office/class teacher after the event. More details will be sent out in September.

Is there parking?

Unfortunately not – please also be mindful of our neighbours – we suggest you walk to the event – you will only be having to clean your car after the event if you do drive!!

Are you looking for volunteers on the day?

Yes! BBQers Bar, Paint Throwers, First Aiders, Marshals all slots are 1 hour long and without help we can’t run the event – please let us know if you can help via (insert) your class rep, roots email address ROOTS_Chair@outlook.com or Roots facebook page
