Cheadle Hulme's Under 12s displayed grit, determination and a whole lot of mettle as they took on their counterparts from Poynton for the first time this season.
A tough first quarter saw the team go 3-0 down, but the boys fought back in the second showing fantastic spirit. Will opened the scoring for Cheadle Hulme, while defence and midfield remained strong, ensuring Poynton had to work hard for every opportunity. George found the back of the net twice taking it to 6-3 at the halfway point.
Cheadle Hulme dominated the third period with all players on the fight back. Rory moved from defence to attack and scored two goals back to back. TJ made some incredible runs his own half, feeding the ball to attack where once again George managed to get past Poynton's solid defence to score another. Super goalie Dillan was once again on brilliant form, making some fantastic saves to ensure the scoreline remained tight. A fantastic third quarter took it to 8-6, leaving it all to play for in the final period.
George opened the scoring and it looked like the boys might just be able to bring it back but Poynton dug deep to finish the game.
The game ended 13-7 to Poynton, with the final score not reflecting the effort and determination displayed by Cheadle Hulme.
